Nelson Rangell is one of the premier saxophonist in Smooth Jazz, with seven best selling albums over the last decade. His latet album, Always, is a sparkling set of smooth jazz produced by Dave Mann, who also produced Nelson's last chart-busting album. Special guest include hit-making guitarist Chuck Loeb/5(11).

Others, such as the Mitch Miller/Percy Faith album [CL ], had redigned covers that Columbia felt were more modern. Some albums, such as CL , not only got redesigned covers, but were given new catalog numbers, also, to make the albums appear to have been recently released.

There are a couple good selections on this CD but overall it's pretty disappointing. I liked what I had heard from Nelson Rangell on Pandora and thought this would be a good CD being "The Best of Nelson Rangell" but it feels like the album is just thrown together without much passion. Won't be buying any more of his CD's/5(14).

I've had this album in CD form since the 90's. Rangell is a unique musician. He brings a passion to the music that is clearly evident and unusual - there's much more to his playing than just the notes. On this album, I particularly like Sonora and A House is Not a Home/5(17).

It had a smooth contemporary feel in keeping with Kirk Whalum, Kenny G and David Sanborn. ' Turning Night into Day ' has turned me onto Nelson Rangell as a very talented musician and reminds me a lot of one of my recent ' All About Jazz ' album reviews from February featuring another underrated, yet wonderful saxophonist, Jeff Hackworth.

Contemporary jazz saxophonist Nelson Rangell's 12th album, Look Again, finds the horn virtuoso concentrating on tenor, as opposed to the dominance of alto saxophone in his recent work. The album simmers with urban flavor and remains upbeat throughout.
