Apr 18,  · Post by rforbes» Sun Apr 12, am Hi, I'd like to apply a noise gate effect to get rid of some hiss that is audible in quiet sections of some audio--i.e. substitute total silence if the signal falls below a certain level.

Feb 20,  · Although mostly a vintage tone guy, Ive got a few patches that I have tried using a bit more gain - amps, pedals, or both - and being a Tele and LP w/ P90s player, primarily I find the noise pretty high on stage when not playing. Prime for a noise gate. However, I cant quite get the noise gate .

May 24,  · Anyway, Hard gate and Noise gate are 2 different things. Noise gate is always on, and it's trying to always reduce the noise, no mattere if you're playing or not. Hard gate is a sorta of switch; when it's on, nothing pass the gate, so you hear nothing, no noise, no guitar. This is handy when you stop your string and don't want to hear buzzing.
